In The Dragon's Lair (For Truth's Sake)

The stories drew you here, up the long switchback path climbing the side of a grim mountain. You sit on the back shelf of a rattling, rickety merchant wagon, every pothole threatening to unseat you onto the wheel-rutted dirt road. The wind is sharp and chill, and you hold your rucksack more closely to your chest as though it can warm you. You have traveled for days, but in a matter of a few short hours, you’ll arrive at the secluded dragon’s lair.

Dragons are romanticized, villainized, and mythologized. But here, you have been invited to stay with the human members of the self-sufficient community built around a small population of dragons amenable to human company. You’ll be able to speak to people who live and work with dragons. You’ll finally learn which rumors and legends are true.

For Truth’s Sake is a solo journaling game system based on anthropology. In it, you will study a culture other than your own, creating field notes for your intended ethnography. In this setting, your culture of focus is a self-sufficient community of humans living alongside and working with dragons.
